Overview

Travel Council was a travel agency I founded and ran for five years, offering curated travel packages including flights, hotels, tours, and transportation to destinations worldwide. As the sole creative director and marketing designer, I was responsible for every aspect of the brand's visual identity and marketing output — from the logo and brand system to social media campaigns, video production, brochures, email campaigns, and the company website. Over five years I produced over 50 campaigns and marketing assets that directly drove customer acquisition and business growth.

The Challenge

Building a travel brand from scratch means competing against established agencies with larger budgets and more recognizable names. The challenge was to create a visual identity and marketing presence that felt premium, trustworthy, and exciting — one that could attract customers across multiple destinations and travel categories while maintaining a consistent brand voice across every touchpoint.

At the same time, every piece of creative had to work hard. With a lean operation, each campaign, brochure, and social post needed to generate real interest and convert browsers into paying customers. There was no room for creative work that looked good but didn't perform.

Brand Identity

The Travel Council brand was built around a blue and yellow color palette — blue conveying trust, reliability, and the openness of travel, and yellow bringing energy, optimism, and warmth. Together they created a distinctive combination that stood out in a category dominated by generic photography and safe design choices.

The logo combined clean typography with a simple mark that communicated both direction and discovery. The brand system extended across all touchpoints — from digital assets and social media to printed brochures and presentation materials — ensuring that every piece of Travel Council creative was immediately recognizable.

Typography followed a clear hierarchy — bold display type for headlines that captured the excitement of travel destinations, and clean readable type for itinerary details, pricing, and practical information. The visual system was designed to be flexible enough to work across a wide range of destinations and package types while always feeling unmistakably Travel Council.

Social Media Design

Instagram was the primary channel for Travel Council's digital presence. The strategy combined aspirational destination photography with clean, brand-consistent graphic design — creating a feed that felt both inspiring and professional.

Each post was designed with a clear hierarchy — a strong visual lead, a destination name or offer headline, and a clear call to action. Post formats included destination spotlights, package promotions, seasonal campaigns, travel tips, and customer testimonials. Stories were used for time-sensitive offers and behind-the-scenes content that added personality to the brand.

Consistency was a core principle. Every post used the brand color palette, typography system, and graphic style — ensuring the feed built visual equity over time rather than feeling like a collection of unrelated content. Templates were developed in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to speed up production while maintaining quality across high-volume posting periods.

Print & Digital Campaigns

Brochures were a key sales tool for Travel Council — used both digitally and in print to present package details, itineraries, pricing, and destination highlights in a format that customers could browse at their own pace.

Each brochure was designed in Adobe InDesign and followed a clear structure: a striking cover image and headline, destination overview, detailed itinerary, inclusions and pricing, and a clear booking call to action. The layout balanced photography with clean typographic structure — giving customers the information they needed while keeping the design aspirational and engaging.

Digital versions were optimized for sharing via email and WhatsApp — the primary channels through which Travel Council packages were distributed to potential customers. Print versions were produced for display at partner locations and travel events.

Email campaigns followed a similar structure — a strong subject line and hero image, followed by concise package details and a prominent booking link. Campaigns were timed around seasonal travel demand, destination promotions, and holiday periods to maximize relevance and open rates.

Video Production

Video content was produced for Instagram and other digital channels using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Destination highlight reels, package promotion videos, and seasonal campaign films brought destinations to life in ways that static imagery alone could not achieve.

Each video followed a simple production formula — strong opening visuals, destination highlights cut to music, package details as motion graphics, and a clear call to action. Motion graphics were created in After Effects to add polish and brand consistency to titles, transitions, and end cards.

Video content consistently outperformed static posts in terms of engagement and reach — confirming that investing in video production was one of the highest-value creative decisions for the brand.

Website Design

The Travel Council website was designed and built to serve as the primary destination for customers researching packages and making booking enquiries. The design prioritized clarity and conversion — making it easy for visitors to browse destinations, understand package inclusions, and take the next step toward booking.

The homepage led with a strong hero section featuring destination photography and the brand's core value proposition. Destination pages presented packages in a clean, scannable format with clear pricing, itinerary details, and enquiry forms. The overall design was responsive and optimized for mobile, reflecting the reality that most customers were browsing on their phones.

Results

Over five years of consistent creative output, Travel Council built a recognizable brand presence and a loyal customer base. The visual identity and marketing system created a premium positioning that allowed the agency to compete effectively against larger competitors. Social media growth drove consistent inbound enquiries, while brochure campaigns and email marketing supported repeat bookings and customer retention.

The project demonstrated the full power of consistent, high-quality creative design — from brand identity through to campaign execution — in building a business from the ground up.
